Getting Started
Getting Started with Data Room
The Data Room is your central place in SecureSlate to store, organize, and share evidence for audits. It also acts as a knowledge hub for your AI agent, so the agent can use your own documentation to give better guidance on improving your security posture.
From the sidebar, go to Compliance → Data Room.

There are three main tabs: Files, Archived, and Knowledge Base.
Files tab: working evidence for audits
Use the Files tab to upload and organize your company data:
- Upload policies, procedures, screenshots, exports, and other audit evidence
- Create folders per framework, audit, team, or theme (for example, “ISO 27001:2022 Evidence” or “Employee Records”)
When you create an audit in SecureSlate, the evidence you collect is automatically stored in the Files area for that audit so admins and auditors can easily access it later. This keeps everything in one place instead of scattered across drives and email.
Archived tab: past evidence you still want to keep
The Archived tab is for files you no longer need for active audits, but still want to retain for history or future reference.
- Move files or folders from Files into Archived when an audit is complete
- Keep a clean workspace for current audits while preserving a record of what you shared in the past
Archiving helps you stay organized without losing important historical evidence.
Knowledge Base tab: give the AI more context
The Knowledge Base tab is where you upload company documents that you want SecureSlate’s AI agent to use as context:
- Internal policies, standards, and playbooks
- Architecture diagrams and design docs
- Runbooks and incident response guides
- Any other documents that explain how your organization works
By adding these documents to the Knowledge Base, you:
- Give the AI agent richer context when answering questions on the Agent page
- Get more accurate, tailored suggestions for improving your security posture
- Reduce back-and-forth by letting the agent “read” your existing documentation
Best practices
- Keep a clear folder structure in Files that mirrors your frameworks or audits.
- Regularly move completed-audit artifacts to Archived to keep the active view focused.
- Continuously add high-quality internal documents to Knowledge Base so the AI agent can provide deeper, organization-specific recommendations.
